Oh, that I had the wings of a dove!

Psalm 55:6

When I think of Coffee at LuLu’s, I find a safe place; a place to soothe your soul and bring joy to your spirit.  A place where encouraging stories inspire and lovely experiences make someone feel special.  It inspires of a time long ago when the simple things in life would make an ordinary day feel extraordinary.tea...cafe

Does life seem to be a little too ordinary at times?  Do you often wish you could just fly away to an exciting destination where time and life just seems to stop and complete rest begins?  We really don’t have to go very far to experience rest, in fact, it may be closer than you think!  One of my most cherished memories is being with family, friends and eating delicious, made from the heart, special fare.  Today was such a day as I took time out from the demands of the day and headed on over to a little Greek sidewalk café in the heart of Florida.  Bistro tables, fresh greenery and the warm soothing air of a Florida day was just the rest I needed.  The menu today:  warm cup of pomegranate tea, Falafel wrap, and Greek salad.  Just the right touch to lift one’s spirits for the day ahead.

Need a lift?  Listen to the voice of your heart; stop, take time to enjoy God’s presence and find that special place in your day to see extraordinary in the ordinary.

Let My Heart Dream of Sanctuary

SanctuaryThe greatest of dreams reside in our hearts, where only real treasure can be found. Scripture tells us “where your heart is there our treasure will be.”  What dreams reside in your heart today?  For me, my home is a reflection of my heart.   I long and dream for sanctuary; a welcoming respite from troubles.    I want to challenge you to find one room that represents sanctuary for you.  A place that envelops, inspires and comforts.  Perhaps that means painting the room your favorite color, adding a piece of artwork, changing the furniture around, adding rich beautiful curtains, and displaying some of your favorite things.  It may mean creating a cozy corner with your favorite chair, books and family photos.  If you love the outdoors place that chair close to a window that looks out over a garden or pretty yard.  Perhaps, peek through a magazine or on the internet for beautiful things to inspire you.  The photo of the  room featured here is my haven…  It houses an antique dressing table, electric fireplace, cozy chairs, rich curtains and bookcase my husband built along with colors I love and a cozy appeal that draws me to sanctuary.    Allow God to stir your passions and give to you those desires of your heart.   Find that perfect cozy spot and make the most of your home and the treasures you have.
