Mark 6:31 And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.
There is a place that exists where being my true self is not a struggle. Where a heart is free to dream, find peace and feel it’s most comfortable. A tucked away place that surrounds like a warm blanket. My bedroom is the first place I go when I come in the door, the last place I leave from in the morning. It’s my most favorite place to be much like God’s presence. It’s the place where frustrations melt away, and the hope of another day begins. A place to steal away, where beauty is captured and safety is felt. Rest for our weary souls and refreshment to our spirits.
Let me inspire you to “Arise” and create a beautiful bedroom retreat where you can forget the worries of the day and be at peace. Here are some pointers to create a cozy restful place:
*300+ count sheets; Don’t have to spend a lot; look for these on the sales racks at Ross, Marshalls and TJ Maxx!
*Duvet Cover with down comforter or any comfy quilt or comforter; love “Tuesday Morning” for this!
*Lots of different pillows for sleeping, some firm and some soft (down)… I like to lay my head on a firm pillow to support my neck and hug a down pillow
*Lovely curtains which accent your bedding
*Paint the room your favorite color keeping the shade peaceful and warm
*Interesting Lamps (don’t have to match!)
*Comfy throw rugs placed right next to the bed (your feet will thank you in the morning!)
*Favorite books, magazines, bible, silks, art work
*Your favorite fragrance
